Evergreen Engineering recently completed a Project Programming effort for the Basebuild portion of proposed major upgrades and modifications to (2) operating semiconductor fabs. The total square footage of the buildings was 298,700 SF with an estimated cost of the Basebuild construction of $8,000,000. The Programming involved all engineering disciplines – architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical.

Evergreen Engineering’s approach to Programming on this project included the following items:

• Data gathering
• Code Summary/ADA compliance analysis/Exiting study
• A comparison of the existing infrastructure capacities (building and utilities) with projected future requirements
• Close coordination with the client to develop valid utility data and realistic diversity figures
• Prepare a written Scope of Work that was organized by CSI Spec sections
• Provide Scope data to CM for use in Estimating
• Evergreen Engineering performed subsequent revisions to Scope and Estimate to determine cost impacts of tool layout changes.  Evergreen provided very quick turnaround for these changes to give client immediate feedback on cost impacts.
• These revisions to the Scope and Estimate were performed concurrently with the detailed design of the Basebuild items

Additional information regarding unique challenges:

• Structural Programming involved determining the impact and viable solutions to support the concrete floor when loaded by future tools weighing more (per square foot) than what the floor was designed to hold.
• Mechanical Programming included identifying modifications required for (2) Slurry Delivery Systems
• Mechanical programming also included identifying impacts to Allowable Quantities for installation of a Bulk NF3 Gas “Y Cylinder”

• As a result of the exemplary effort Evergreen Engineering gave during the course of this demanding project, the client graded our performance with a score of 97.6 out of a possible 100.
